Whirlpool directs owners to the number printed on the installed filter or the refrigerator model. Use that starting point to open the current Whirlpool or everydrop filter finder.
Two identifiers to collect
Write down the full refrigerator model from its rating plate and the filter number from the installed cartridge. A retail listing that only says “fits Whirlpool” cannot replace those identifiers. Check the filter housing position in the appliance manual if the old cartridge is missing.
Check a replacement number
A product’s older number may be superseded. The local research file contains a Whirlpool replacement-number record, but it is directional: confirm the new number for your exact model in Whirlpool’s current finder. Do not assume two numbers are interchangeable in every refrigerator.
Before you order
Compare the official filter description, package quantity and full model list. If a listing omits your model or uses only a broad family name, keep the result unknown and ask Whirlpool support.
